6 week check up with Dr McGoldrick

Has it really been 6 weeks already? We are all very happy at Camp Giusti! Dr McGoldrick was happy with Tom's range of motion so he can start building up muscle to make the shoulder stronger. Tom uses one of his tools from back in his machinist days and Dr McGoldrick was intrigued with it.

The shoulder will never be 100 % because Tom is missing the top part of his rotator cuff but Dr McGoldrick feels his repair job will work. Tom is signed up at healthsport with Pam, one of their trainers, to work on building up muscles. That starts this Friday. He got the green light to drive! So he is back in the drivers seat at Camp Giusti. Plus he can practice his putting and chipping but no long drives on the golf course yet.

Managing the pain meds.

Tom was turning into a Zombie on the pain meds so he has decided to go without for awhile. He is starting to get some good range of motion with the pulleys. Dealing with the pain is easier than being a Zombie.
Wally has been keeping him company on the couch.

Range of Motion before ream and run

Mom took this video of Tom moving this good and bad arm. You can see it would be hard to cast a fly line with that right arm.

Tomorrow is the big day

I thought I would post a selfy. It has been a long time since I have done any blogging. Last night Tom had to start his bleach showers and he slept in the guest room. NO DOGS ALLOWED. My brother, Wally, was not happy about Tom sleeping in another bed and kept Mom and I awake all night. He is a worry wort. You can just tell from his photo.
Tom is off getting a blood draw so if he needs blood tomorrow they have matching blood. When he gets back Mom gets to learn how to use the foam packing machine so she can keep shipping that Raku stuff. Where is Debra when you need her?
